None of my six children and 18 grandchildren could attend our wedding, so this web site was created for them. This is a love story that began with friendship, enchanting events and then falling in love. After three weeks and one day, we were united in marriage. You will see the gorgeous bride and handsome groom as they start this beautiful relationship.

"A Novel Romance" began at Ron and Dot Featherston's home, Nov. 19, 1999. Our first meeting began with Glenna’s arrival for dinner. Ron had made vegetable soup. After dinner, we spent the remainder of the evening decorating their Christmas tree. We had a delightful time hanging ornaments, placing lighted houses under the tree and setting up a steam train, which played Christmas Carols. God started planning our togetherness in May of 1997 when Glenna’s husband, Richard, passed away. The undertaker, knowing the need of Glenna to get a pastor to perform the funeral, asked Ron if he would officiate. Through this contact with Glenna and repeated calls after the funeral to check on her emotional and spiritual progress, Ron was instrumental in getting Glenna to come to the West Side Church of the Nazarene in Largo, Florida. My wife, Bev, passed away in September 1997.

Ron was introduced to my family back in 1946 when he started courting my oldest sister, Elda. He was well able to judge me and had been trying to match-make me for the past year. He was also playing cupid where Glenna was concerned, something she wanted no part of—at the time… About August 23rd, 1999, I was telling Ron about a Glenda that I had spent the evening with in Indianapolis. That immediately brought Ron’s mind to Glenna Koker in Largo, Florida, and he said, “I have a gal I want you to meet.” Ron made contact with Glenna and with Glenna’s permission, I called her. I believe both of us felt at ease, so we made several more phone calls and some e-mail contacts. I made arrangements to secure my home in Rockford, Illinois and head to Florida for our meeting on November 19.
